Podium for Palmer at Donington

Will Palmer enjoyed another strong weekend at Donington, which started well with a pair of third place grid positions for the two races after a closely fought qualifying session, with teammate Harry Woodhead on pole and Ollie Chadwick second.

Race one was a fairly lonely affair from Will, who maintained third position off the start. Although initially he was able to stay with the lead pair of Woodhead and Chadwick, he picked up some damage after running wide on lap three, which limited him to third.

Race two was much more action-packed for Palmer. He had a similar start again maintaining third behind Chadwick and Woodhead. On lap two he executed a great move on Chadwick around the outside of the high speed Craner curve which allowed him to get into second place.

Will was then able to extend this gap over now third placed man James Kellet, and was running a comfortable second place before a safety car following a coming together between Jack Rawles and Jack Mitchell.

Following the restart Palmer was once again running second with a bit of a gap behind, but with Ollie Chadwick in his slipstream, it came down to a last lap dice between the two and Kellet. Will fended off Chadwick's attempts to pass well throughout the last lap, however Chadwick was able to get alongside on the inside on the run into the final chicane.

Under braking it looked as though Palmer was set for third place, but with Chadwick pushed on after a knock from behind, Will was unable to turn in and both drivers missed the corner, gifting James Kellet second place. Woodhead took the win while Chadwick finished third just ahead of a slightly disappointed Palmer.

"Overall it has been good to once again score lots of points this weekend keeping me in the championship hunt. Race two was quite disappointing, as having run second throughout the race, I was very unlucky to be forced out at the last corner. I was strong at Thruxton last year, so hopefully I can make some ground up there in two weeks time!"
