Will Palmer continues with HHC for 2013

Will Palmer has re-signed with HHC motorsport, the team he switched to at the start of 2012, for a second season in the Ginetta Junior Championship in 2013.

Palmer enjoyed an up and down learning year in the series last year, with the highlights being a pair of second place qualifying positions at Silverstone and a battling drive from seventh to fourth at a damp Thruxton. He also finished third in race two at Silverstone after a strong race but was deemed to have exceeded track limits and was thus given a five second penalty.

Palmer put the lessons learnt during the season to good use in the 2012 Ginetta Junior Winter series, where the Cranleigh schoolboy, 15, scored consistent results including his first podium to take third overall in the winter championship.
Confirmed teammates for Palmer at HHC are Ginetta Junior Winter series champion Harry Woodhead and rookie James Kellet.

"I'm really excited to be continuing with HHC for 2013," said Will, "as after a strong learning year I feel we are in a good position to challenge for the title, especially after the promise shown at Rockingham in the Winter series. HHC were the obvious choice for us as we found them to be a great team in 2012, and Harry is sure to be a good benchmark in 2013."

HHC team manager Charlie Kemp added: "We are delighted Will is continuing with HHC for a second full season. He developed a great deal as a race driver last year and regular podium positions are a realistic goal in 2013, which would make him a serious championship contender."

Father Jonathan Palmer commented: "Not only does Will really enjoy his racing but he works very hard at it which reminds me of my own approach. He has come on very well and having achieved the target I set him in 2012, he will hopefully be a regular front runner this year - despite having to focus on his GCSE exams until June!"

The 2013 Ginetta Junior Championship is set to kick off at Brands Hatch Indy circuit on 31 March alongside the British Touring Car Championship, with coverage live on ITV4.
