Will third quickest overall in Friday practice at Brands

2015 BRDC Formula 4 Champion Will Palmer ended the day third quickest overall, as he topped the fourth and final practice session of the day at Brands Hatch, ahead of this weekend's (26/27 September) season finale.

Having sat out the morning's running on the 1.2-mile Indy Circuit in Kent, Will took to the track for the third session of the day in the afternoon. After an early red flag brought a halt to the session, caused by Lanan Racing's Jack Bartholomew, the 18-year-old set about building up his speed.

Initially sitting in ninth position, the BRDC Rising Star began improving his lap times and moved into the top-five with 10 minutes left on the clock. With three minutes remaining, Will went third fastest but was relegated down the order to fourth by Chris Dittmann Racing's Tom Jackson who improved to go third with just one minute left in the session.

The fourth and final session of the day was extended to 40 minutes due to lost running earlier in the day, but two red flags in the practice reduced running once more. However, having set the initial pace before the first red flag, Will lowered his best lap time once again with around 15 minutes left in the session, posting a 45.388s.

Fernando Urrutia closed the gap to Will to 0.128s, with his HHC Motorsport team-mate Harri Newey 0.168s adrift in third. None of the other 18 drivers could match Will's speed in the final session and as the chequered flag dropped to end the day's action, Will topped the timing screens.

His lap from the fourth session was good enough for third overall, just behind Ciaran Haggerty and Rodrigo Fonseca, who competed in all four sessions across the day as opposed to Will who participated in only the two afternoon practice sessions.

Session Three:
