Strong day of running for Will in France as he ends eighth quickest

Will Palmer finished eighth fastest on the first day of the second official pre-season Formula Renault 2.0 test, held at the Paul Ricard Circuit in France. The 19-year-old ended the day's running as the third fastest rookie as he continued his preparations ahead of his Eurocup and Northern European Cup campaigns.

Following an impressive performance at the first official pre-season test held at Motorland Aragon in Spain in February, Will continued where he left off with his R-ACE GP team in France. Joined on track by 26 other competitors, the 19-year-old ended the two morning sessions with a best lap of 2m06.259s, which was good enough for 14th position.

He improved significantly in the afternoon however and posted the eighth quickest time of the day with a 2m04.317s in the final session, under seven tenths of a second shy of the overall fastest time and against many rivals with much more experience of the Formula Renault car.

Testing at Paul Ricard continues tomorrow (Saturday) with the second and final day of running of the second official test and you can keep up to date with Will's progress with updates here on his official website.
