Will Palmer resumes Formula Renault title quest in France this weekend

Will Palmer returns to Formula Renault Eurocup action at Paul Ricard in southern France this weekend (26-27 August), following a short summer break. The R-ace GP driver heads to France third overall in the standings, just two points adrift of second-places Robert Shwartzman, right in the hunt for the title.

Will has plenty of reason to look forward to the two races at the Le Castellet circuit, as it's the site of his maiden Formula Renault Eurocup podium, and he's enjoyed an excellent season so far to pick up three wins and an additional four podiums, including in the most recent race at the Red Bull Ring.

Will remains firmly within contention for the title come the end of the season, despite a series of unfortunate setbacks during the last three rounds which have prevented him from showing his true pace. Aside from results affected by car damage at the last event and an electrical glitch two rounds previously, the Sussex driver would have a perfect points-scoring record this year.

This weekend marks Will's second appearance at the 5.8km French Grand Prix venue, which is best known for its long straights, and fast sweeping corners.

The BRDC Superstar will race on both Saturday and Sunday, with individual qualifying sessions to determine the starting positions for each race. This weekend marks the beginning of the final title run-in comprising these two races, and triple-header rounds at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium and the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain.
