Will’s talent recognised as he returns to BRDC SuperStars programme in 2017

After impressing in the 2016 Eurocup Formula Renault and Northern European Cup categories, it has been announced that Will Palmer will continue as a BRDC Superstar in 2017 as he targets the Eurocup title.

The scheme which is run by the prestigious British Racing Drivers' Club, recognises the most promising young drivers in the UK and helps them as they continue their journey up the motorsport ladder. Will was selected to join the BRDC SuperStars programme in 2016 after a scintillating season which saw him dominate the 2015 BRDC  Formula 4 Championship and claim the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award, and the 20-year-old will continue on the programme in 2017. Will was formerly a part of the BRDC Rising Stars programme.

Now in its 10th year, the BRDC SuperStars programme supports racers from a number of different disciplines from single-seaters to prototypes, touring cars to GTs. The Superstars receive direct assistance with all aspects of professional motorsport, including help with physical and mental training, career guidance, team building skills, sponsorship advice, media training and much more.

Former Touring Car, British GT and Porsche champion Tim Harvey will be on hand to counsel the drivers in his role as director of the SuperStars programme, whilst BMW factory driver Alexander Sims will also continue his role as BRDC SuperStars ambassador.

Will said: "I'm delighted to be on the BRDC SuperStars programme once again for 2017. I found it a great support last year in a number of areas, and to have the support of the BRDC is a massive thing for any young driver. It's great that this support will continue into this year and I am sure it will be a big help for the season ahead in Eurocup Formula Renault."

Will is joined on the programme by 11 other drivers, including GP2 Series drivers Oliver Rowland and Alex Albon among others.
