Will aiming to end season on a high as curtain comes down on Eurocup campaign

The 2016 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 comes to a close this weekend (22/23 October) at the Autodromo do Estoril in Portugal, with Will aiming to end his season on a high and claim a top-three finish in the rookie class.

The 19-year-old comfortably holds 10th place in the overall standings and lies in fourth place in the rookie classification for first year drivers. The Southwater racer has a comfortable gap to Gabriel Aubry in 11th and will be looking to move forward in the top-10 as he sits just one point behind current third placed rookie driver Robert Shwartzman and just 15 points off the overall top six.

The 2015 BRDC Formula 4 Champion has enjoyed a strong maiden season in the Eurocup category, scoring eight top-10 finishes from the 13 races thus far, and stepped onto the podium at Paul Ricard in France with a third placed finish, his best result in Eurocup so far.

It will be the R-ace GP driver's first outing at the former Portuguese Grand Prix venue, which has seen many memorable moments over the year's including Niki Lauda winning the 1984 Formula 1 World Championship and Ayrton Senna's first F1 win.

The Eurocup action on the 2.6-mile Estoril track gets underway on Friday (21 October) with two 50-minute test sessions before Saturday begins with qualifying at 10:20, with lights out to start race one the same day at 13:51. A second qualifying session opens Sunday's action at 08:00 before the final race of the 2016 Eurocup season takes place at 10:46. Both races will be streamed live on the Renault Sport Youtube channel here
